About Community Nuclear Power
Community Nuclear Power (CNP) brings together a rare concentration of UK nuclear leadership experience. The founding team has individually secured and managed more nuclear licensed sites than any comparable active group, and has delivered complex first-of-a-kind programmes across the UK’s most demanding nuclear environments.
Working alongside strategic partners, this creates exceptional capability across the full range of required activities including licensing, regulation, project delivery and finance - positioning CNP as the most credible private platform capable of delivering a UK SMR project.
CNP is the holding company of the future portfolio of nuclear site licence companies, the first of which is Tees Community Power Company Ltd (TCPC). CNP will provide expert capability through its lead team to support TCPC throughout the project. This will include direct executive level engagements within TCPC as well as investor relations, corporate finance, legal, governance, assurance and audit services for TCPC.
In this way TCPC can focus on project delivery with CNP managing governance and oversight. CNP’s Board and Management are responsible for oversight of TCPC in relation to the use of funds and project audit and assurance.
CNP is wholly owned by five equal shareholders: the company’s founders, Paul Foster, Andrew Carr, Chris Sheryn and Kenny McKay, along with Ian Hunter, owner of Green Lizard Group estate - the land secured for the TCPC project. (Ian is also Executive Chairman of Green Lizard, a UK‑based power‑to‑liquids company developing a large‑scale, privately owned green fuels and chemicals hub on Teesside, which will be supplied with power and heat by CNP’s TCPC project.)
